A Typical PsychWizard PsychAnswer

Home Up

(This is the format of a typical PsychAnswer resulting from using PsychWizard to answer a specific question.)

Your question was: ______  Here is the PsychAnswer: Based on your responses to the prompts PsychWizard gave you, Psychwizard does/does not think it's a reasonable hypothesis for further investigation that you/your child may have ________ disorder (or syndrome; see below).  Note that a real diagnosis cannot be made by any method other than a personal examination by a qualified clinician, as already stated in Disclaimer - What We Are NOT.  To pursue the matter further, you should contact such a professional.

The hypothesis that ______ disorder may be present/probably is not present was suggested by your responses indicating the following diagnostic criteria are probably met/not met:

a)

b)

c) (etc.)

It seems that further information is needed on the following points that were tentatively endorsed:

1)

2)

3) (etc.)

Once the additional needed information is obtained, you can run PsychWizard again with the same question and receive an amended or updated PsychAnswer at no additional charge.  You will not need to reenter information you have entered before or respond to the same questions if you do not want to; your responses will be kept in our database for 1 year unless you choose to delete them before signing off below.

Syndrome versus Disorder: The constellation of symptoms and behaviors that suggest the possible working diagnosis or hypothesis of _______ disorder noted above might instead be considered a syndrome that may be part of a superordinate diagnosis.   In other words, a more extensive problem may be present of which ______ disorder is just a part.  In this particular case, the possible superordinate diagnoses or more extensive problems that should be considered include:

I) ____________

II) ____________

III) ________

(etc.)

If you would like to check any of these out, please run PsychWizard using these as questions by pushing the appropriate buttons.  You will not need to answer the same questions again since your responses are already in PsychWizard's database, but there is an additional charge for each new question you put to PsychWizard and you will not be able to get the PsychAnswer unless you pay for it.

Secondary versus Primary conditions: Just as the symptoms of ______ disorder may be just part of a more extensive or superordinate condition, they may also be a result of another, Primary disorder. In the particular case of ____ disorder, these possible Primary disorders include:

I) ____________

II) ____________

III) ________

(etc.)

If you would like to check any of these out, please run PsychWizard using these as questions by pushing the appropriate buttons.  You will not need to answer the same questions again since your responses are already in PsychWizard's database, but there is an additional charge for each new question you put to PsychWizard and you will not be able to get the PsychAnswer unless you pay for it..

If subsequent runs of PsychWizard suggest that ______ disorder is only a part of one of the superordinate diagnoses, or a secondary manifestation of another, primary disorder, treatment recommendations may be quite different.  This possibly complex matter can only be addressed by a "real" clinician selected by you.

Treatment of ______ disorder:  PsychAnswers has assembled the following summary from a variety of sources
